when in el lay...

drive it y'all...

erykah badu kicks it yet again...

exemplifying why she really is the queen of all things cool, erykah badu kicks it large in her new music video WINDOW SEAT
so much so that if all of your favorite blogs aren't discussing this video in the next 48 hours then they're clearly dropping the ball. for details on the breakthrough video check THIS report. SERIOUSLY INSPIRING STUFF!!!

ps. i've never wanted anything burberry in my entire life but when erykah badu strips off the black trench coat to reveal the brand's signature lining, all i could think of was "where can i get that burberry coat? i need that coat." don't talk to me about the power of product placement folks. if erykah's got it, anyone with half a clue will want it. period.

90210 life...

just to give you an idea of what arrives on my doorstep every week, here is the local paper which is pretty much a 30-page botox ad filled with party snapshots of 90210 folk at events looking rather revolting. every now and again the cover star is some awkward looking dude posing with his girlfriend, in this case its seth rogen. gotta love beverly hills (you know you'll never fit in, but crikey its hilarious standing back and witnessing it all).

according to edward enninful...

"i've always been most inspired by the legendary stylists that were working in london in the '80s and early '90s like caroline baker who is one of the best stylists ever (the work she did with nova magazine was absolutely brilliant). i absolutely love the work of judy blame, he is one of england's national style treasures and his stories were out of this world - truly inspiring. and of course ray petri: the buffalo boy look he created in arena and i-D was incredibly influential." - edward enninful (contributing fashion editor for american and italian vogue, as well as the fashion director of i-D), from a forthcoming article i'm currently working on...

more beastly love...

wipeout! my little ol' article written for the daily beast has attracted quite a mass of attention with links spotted on www.style.com and in style. so for all of the stylists who wouldn't respond to my emails asking them to be a part of the article, in the words of vivian from pretty woman, i just wanted to say the following: "big mistake. big. huge."

same but different: bruce lee + artist richard estes...

love learning this: richard estes (born may 14, 1932 in illinois) is an american painter who is best known for his photorealistic paintings consisting of reflective, clean, and inanimate city and geometric landscapes. he is regarded as one of the founders of the international photo-realist movement of the late 1960s, with painters such as ralph goings, chuck close, and duane hanson.

tattoo's inspired by film: now if only half of los angeles could up the ante when it comes to creative inking all might look a little better...

not necessarily in this order...

1. upper east side maya inspired by diane keaton's look in annie hall...
2. rosemary's baby - read it...
3. satin ribbon for $1.99 a meter worn as a belt...
4. pucci prints (even when they are worn by people with bad posture they still look good)...
5. iconic musician names worn as pins (show people you know what's up)...

delinlee loves the daily beast...

today is a good day folks! i'm exceptionally proud to announce my first article for the daily beast which was just posted HERE. the two-page profile spotlights a handful of hollywood actresses who are opting to go it alone on the red carpet rather than fork over mind-boggling stylist fee's that can reach upwards of $8,000-a-day...and most of them still look like a cat's bum! go figure! below, diane kruger and january jones, both of whom work without a stylist and still make the grade when it comes to looking good.
